Should People Use Call Of Duty Cheats?

As excitement builds for Modern Warfare 2 we have done some research to see the views on cheats. We did a review of some of the literature on game cheats spoke to a few pro players and also some regulars to get there opinions on cheats and variations on cheats in online mode.


What I am referring to is people who go into one v one matches online for the sole purpose of completing challenges such as shooting someone in mid air or getting loads of head shots so they can get the golden guns on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. It seems the view of most of the people we speak to is that for single-player mode its ok as people use them when they are in trouble getting through levels or difficult spots on a mission. But for online multiplayer, our panel people think that cheats/hacks are a disgrace that no gamer should ever use. We think based

on our research this is because every gamer online expects a level playing field when playing online and when someone cheats and has got better stuff than you (guns, perks etc.) it puts you of putting real effort into getting better at the game.

Some of the top pro's see online cheating as quite a sad thing for someone to be doing as they can have no sense of pride when they win or when they carry around there gold Ak-47 because they have not earned it. One thing that was discussed is the use of glitches on different maps in Modern Warfare, most parties we spoke to agreed that this was all part of the game. This aspect of the game is a level playing field as everyone has the ability to try and find the secret spots or glitches on all the maps. I'm sure the debate over cheats will continue when Modern Warfare 2 comes out in November.
